PLAYMOBIL 7076 HISTORY – PLAY GIVE GREEK FIGHTERS OF 1821

Two Greek Fighters of 1821, the Greek Oplarchigos and the Greek Captain, are depicted with PLAYMOBIL figures and pay tribute to the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution, as part of the PLAYMOBIL play & give institution. The PLAYMOBIL play & give social program offers joy and support to thousands of children throughout Greece. As every year, part of the proceeds will be allocated to support the goals of the “ORAMA ELPIDAS” Association.

Anniversary collection for the two hundredth anniversary of the Greek Revolution. On the front of the box is depicted a detail from the lithograph: "View of Athens: Colonel Fabieros at the head of the Greek army defends the outskirts of the city" Paris, 1827. Collection of the National Historical Museum – Athens. On the PLAYMOBIL papyrus included in the package, the first two verses from the revolutionary song "Thourios" by Rigas Velestinlis appear, which was first published in 1797 and made available throughout Turkish-occupied Greece. The captain holds the flag of Spetses, the first Greek island to join the Revolution of 1821.
